Aromas For Sparkling Water
Aromas for flavouring carbonated water, and my assessment
Sodastream Mywater comes in 100 ml glass bottles with droppers. These have several problems. The aroma liquid is a rather thick fluid and thus won’t easily come out of the bottle. And you can’t even squeeze the glass bottle to force the fluid out. You must either place the bottle upside-down for several minutes and wait for the drops, or remove the dropper with a knife and use your own syringe.
Sodastream Mywater Orange has too little taste, and even increasing the dosage doesn’t help. To be avoided.
Sodastream Mywater Strawberry-Lemon is acceptable, but tastes like strawberry wine gum rather than fruit.
The alternative is Aromhusets aromas. These come in 30 ml and 100 ml PET bottles with droppers. The droppers have a different construction from those on Sodastream bottles, and work excellently. You can also squeeze the bottles to get the last bits out. Two thirds of a capsule is enough for one litre of water, something that you quickly get familiar with – after about twenty or thirty litres you can do this without even measuring.
Aromhusets aromas come in 25 different flavours, and I intend to sample these and post my findings. After trying about half, my favourites are blackcurrant, lemon, banana, apple, and passion fruit. Awesome.
